Band Camp

Band Camp starts tomorrow Monday August 14th!

Here are a few reminders…

-Band camp runs Monday through Friday 8/14 – 8/25

-The morning session runs from 9am-1pm and the afternoon session runs 4pm-8pm

-The morning session for Monday 8/14 is just for new members, drum majors, section leaders and all colorguard.

-Please bring a water bottle, snacks, a pencil, sunscreen, bugspray, sunglasses, a hat and all instruments/equipment.

-Water will be provided to refill your water bottles but water bottles/cups will not be provided.

-Please wear comfy clothes you can move in (no jeans) and athletic sneakers (no sandals, flipflops or flats)

-A dot book will be given to you on Monday 8/14 please fill it out regularly and bring it with you to every rehearsal. Instructions on how to most effectively use your dotbook will be covered on Monday.

-Students will be given a bandana and be assigned to a team for band camp. Sections of the band will be given multiple opportunities to earn points for their teams.

-Week one is theme week! Help your section gain points by dressing for the theme!

Monday 8/14 Merica Monday (bust out the red, white and blue)

Tuesday 8/15 Rainbow Day (wear lots of color)

Wednesday 8/16 Anti Color Day (lots of black and white)

Thursday 8/17 Jungle Day (wild wear)

Friday 8/18 Disney Day (wear your favorite Disney gear)

Please remember that you need to be able to move in your theme clothing and the school dress code is in effect for all of band camp. A student will be sent home if they break the dress code.

I hope everyone is ready for band camp! The staff is very excited and has lots of great things planned for the next two weeks! Woo hoo! Go Mustangs!

DCI Trip

Hi everyone!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the DCI Trip for anyone that signed up to go. Please be at the high school by 2pm and bring your $25 and permission slip if you haven’t done so already.

Summer Rehearsals

This year, 3 out of the 6 summer rehearsals will be required for all band members in addition to band camp. Students are welcome to attend more than 3 rehearsals but they must attend a minimum of 3. Section Leaders, Band Officers, and Drum Majors are required to attend all summer rehearsals.  Please fill out this form letting us know which rehearsals you will be attending. This form is due by July 5th @ 10am. The dates you pick will be subject to the band’s attendance policy (see this year’s handbook for more information). Thank you!

Band Officers

Hi everyone! Please fill this form out if you are interested in running for a student officer position for the 2017-2018 school year. This form is due by July 5th @ 10am. We will have elections shortly after that date. Thank you!

6/25 Flag Day Ceremony

Hi Everyone,
Just a reminder that tomorrow is Medfords flag day ceremony. Please meet at 8:30am at Medford high school. We will put on our new uniforms (don’t forget black socks, shoes and gloves) colorguard will wear the black colorguard tshirt and black leggings/bottoms. Please don’t forget your instruments and folios (with patriot music). We will run through the music and then march down the hill to honor roll park for the ceremony. When the ceremony is done we will head back to the high school to take off the uniforms and then everyone is invited to the Medford Elks for breakfast. Transportation will not be provided, I would suggest carpooling as parking might be limited.

Mandatory Parent Meeting

Hi everyone!

We will be having marching band rehearsal tomorrow from 5:30PM – 8PM. Tomorrow will also be the mandatory parent meeting starting at 6PM. We will be discussing the upcoming season and going over paperwork that needs to be filled out to participate in the band program. If any parent is having trouble making it to the meeting, please email Mrs. Rello at to set up a private meeting.

A Night on Broadway

Chevalier Concert Day is here!
Please arrive at the Chevalier Theater tomorrow no later than 1pm. We need to unload the trailer and set everything up before rehearsal starts!
Please eat lunch before you arrive and bring a bagged dinner to eat during break. (No food will be provided you must bring something to eat it is a long day) There will be a break between rehearsal and the performance for students to relax, rest their chops, eat and get changed. Students are not allowed to leave during break, they must stay at the theater.
Concert dress is white on top, black on the bottom, black tie, black socks and black shoes.
If anyone still has ticket money please bring it with you to rehearsal. If anyone has any last minute donations please send them tomorrow with you child at 1pm.
Volunteers please arrive by 5:30pm.

This is going to be a great concert! We have some awesome alumni that came back to play and we sounded great at Wednesday’s rehearsal!! Please invite all of your family and friends so tonight can be a huge success!!

Disney Payment

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that Disney Payment #2 is due today! If you forgot it or didn’t see me today please bring it to Clippership Day tomorrow! Thank you, see you all tomorrow at 11:30am behind Colleens!

Don’t forget your white band tshirts, folios and instruments! Front ensemble and colorguard all of your equipment was loaded in the trailer today!
